When the end crossmembers are in place remove the clamped spacer boards and clamp one at the upright, with one edge up to the upright boards. One thing to be careful of is not to run these screws into the ones securing the caps to the base. One screw into each cap and one into the base should be plenty. Two caps should be facing one way and two the other way when countersinking. Base: Upright: Diagonal: Start by drilling and countersinking pilot holes in two uprights and two pairs of caps. Start by doing one on each side to keep things in place, then finish the rest. Each A-frame is constructed of 5 long boards (2 each of uprights and diagonals and one base), 4 caps, and two spacers. Now you can drill and countersink your pilot holes. Now set the frame on one "edge" and clamp a length of wood to the bottom of the base, keeping the frames at the desired distance apart (so the end crossmembers go from the outer edges of the end caps) and so the frames are "square", not both leaning left or right. The boards also need to be the width of the crossmembers back from the end of the base. Start by inserting the axle through the axle bores in the top of the upright to keep them aligned during the process. Don’t Wall The Trees: Huge waste of stone. These things can see for miles so when the enemy starts to cut through you will have a fair warning to set-up a decent defence. Once the A-farmes are complete you need to join them. It is highly advised to litter your wall of trees with Outposts (coupled with Town Watch & Town Patrol to increase their Line of Sight).
